Our Teacher Training Course provides an opportunity to awaken and/or deepen your yoga practice, meet old and new friends, and to be a part of the Shoals Yoga community which is growing each day. The best part of all is learning that everything we need is already within us and how the practices can lead us into accessing our gifts and beauty from the inside out. The experience provides a great way to find long lasting happiness, peace and the ability to share the yogic lifestyle with others. Shoals Yoga is a 200 hour registered yoga school through Yoga Alliance

2019 Weekend Schedule:

  • April 6-7

  • May 4-5

  • June 1-2

  • June 29-30

  • Sept 21-22

 

*There will also be a requirement to attend 1 class per week, 1 hour of service per week, 1 hour of self study per week, and observation hours.

 

**All weekends meet Sat & Sun from 9a-6pm. 

 

CURRICULUM

The goal of this training program is to guide and foster the learning and growth of inspiring yoga teachers who are able to source wisdom from their own practice and personal discipline in imparting the yoga teachings and experience to others. Our weekend modules include meditation sessions, yoga classes, lectures, chanting, and service to the community.

PREREQUISITES

A high degree of self-motivation is required for all aspects of the course. A basic knowledge of yoga postures and philosophy is helpful but not essential. A sincere desire to learn and openness to the teachings of yoga is required. The practice and especially the teaching of yoga demand a high degree of self-discipline and purity. To ensure the success of the program, participants are required to attend all spiritual activities, meditation sessions, lectures and asana classes.

This 200 hour TTC has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Not only have I made great friends along the way, but I have also gained ideals and practices that have changed my lifestyle for the better. TTC is more than just learning how to be a yoga teacher, its learning how to live again and live the way we were designed to live. During this six months I’ve had access to a wealth of knowledge on proper diet, energy maintenance, and proper situational responses. Thanks to this material I was able to look deep within and see the good, the bad, and the ugly hiding in my heart. Then, I was taught how to change it so that I can be my best for myself and others around me. With this new mindset and outlook on life I feel happier, healthier, and inspired to share it with others. It doesn’t stop with just sparking inspiration though. We are then taught how to teach others so that this sweet message we now carry in our hearts can translate in a way that positively impacts our students. What a joy it is knowing that there is a way that I can help others learn to become their best selves! I can honestly say that even though I learned more than I could've imagined it wouldn’t have been the same without my beautiful sisters. There is just something about having a group of women love and care for one another when we need it most. Overall, I’d rate this TTC program a solid 10 out of 10. It is authentic, educational, and taught by teachers who have a genuine desire to guide others.
